Rosewood Hotels and Resorts is continuing its expansion across Asia with the addition of new properties in China, the Philippines and India.
The Hong Kong-based Rosewood Hotel Group today announced the Rosewood Shenzhen (opening 2022), Rosewood Hermana Mayor (2023), New World Jaipur Resort (2023) and Rosewood Shanghai (2024).
It marks the luxury brand’s first Indian property and will be the first all-villa luxury resort in Jaipur, with plans for 181 villas.
The brand is growing rapidly, with the Rosewood Sanya, Rosewood Phuket, Rosewood Phnom Penh and Rosewood Luang Prabang all opening in the last 12 months. It plans to open Rosewood Hong Kong, Rosewood Bangkok, and Rosewood Yangon later this year and Rosewood Guangzhou in Spring 2019.
“We intend to double the number of Rosewood hotels in the next five years, from our current 24 hotels in 15 countries, with a full one-third of new properties located in Asia,” said Sonia Cheng, chief executive officer of Rosewood Hotel Group.
“China remains a priority and our entry into Shanghai and Shenzhen represents an important expansion of our footprint in Tier 1 cities.”
The Rosewood group has four brands: the luxury Rosewood Hotels and Resorts, with properties across North America, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East and Asia; New World Hotels and Resorts, with a focus on China and Southeast Asia; upper-midscale Pentahotels in Europe and Asia; and Khos, an upscale business brand launching in 2019.
The group has announced plans to add 50 hotels to its global portfolio in the next three to five years. It currently has 63 hotels in 22 countries.
