Hong Kong is set to get its first Rosewood luxury hotel in 2018, Rosewood Hotels and Resorts has announced. The new Rosewood Hong Kong is set to occupy 27 floors of a mixed-use tower located on Salisbury Road in Tsim Sha Tsui, adjacent to the Victoria Harbour waterfront on the site of the former New World Centre.

Offering 398 rooms, the Hong Kong property will feature a total of eight dining options along with a fitness centre, swimming pool and a facility offering the brand’s holistic wellness concept. Some 199 luxury accommodations for extended stays will also be available on the top 19 floors of the tower and will include a dedicated lounge, indoor swimming pool and fitness centre, along with outdoor terraces in some units. Guests in the residences can also make use of special services and amenities.

Meanwhile, select hotel guests will be able to make use of the Manor Club executive lounge, and corporate groups can utilise the hotel’s signature Pavilion residential-style meeting and events spaces.

“As one of the world’s great cities, with iconic character and landscape, Hong Kong is a superlative location to open a Rosewood hotel and exquisitely express the brand’s A Sense of Place philosophy,” said Rosewood’s CEO, Sonia Cheng of the announcement. “We aim for this hotel to capture Hong Kong’s grace and dynamism, culture and modernity, while debuting Rosewood’s engaging, intuitive and refined service here in our home city.”

Designed by New York-based studio tonychi, the property has been described as offering an ultra-high-end experience “immediately upon arrival and extend[ing] throughout the public spaces, private guestrooms and event venues”, according to the announcement. Meanwhile, fellow New York-based firm Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates will be behind the architecture of the hotel.

Rosewood currently has 18 properties in 11 countries with 17 new hotels under development, including a 22-accommodation Laos property expected to open next year, effectively doubling its portfolio by 2020.

Rosewood Hotel Group has three brands: Rosewood Hotels and Resorts, New World Hotels and Resorts and Pentahotels.
