The latest hotel from budget-friendly giant Travelodge opened its doors today in Whitechapel, a brisk ten-minute walk east from Liverpool Street Station. The £95 million hotel is the company’s largest new build yet, featuring 395 rooms and a Bar Café, adjacent to Sunday’s Petticoat Lane Market. The hotel will serve as the Travelodge Plus brand’s flagship. To celebrate the opening, the company is offering 100,000 rooms at any of its six Travelodge Plus hotels for £39, valid for stay dates from 30 July 2018 to 23 April 2019.
The new hotel brings Travelodge’s presence up to 75 hotels in London and 550 in the UK. The Plus brand is designed for modern budget travel, but with more options; different calibre of rooms are available, ranging from economy to super.
More Travelodge hotels are in the works for Beckton, Elephant and Castle, Peckham, and Manor House, all anticipated to open in 2020. The company is also actively looking to secure 100 more hotel sites around the city. Other recent openings include properties in Acton, Bromley and Dagenham.
