Marriott International has opened the first property under its Tribute Portfolio brand in Germany, located close to Hamburg Airport.

Nordport Plaza, Hamburg Airport, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel features 188 rooms within a ten storey oval-shaped building which also houses the rooftop Senator Lounge and Sky Bar, and a wellness centre offering a gym, sauna, therapy rooms and relaxation area with outdoor terrace.

A second four storey building is connected to the main tower by a glass bridge, and features the fine dining Restaurant Blue, as well as a conference centre with five flexible spaces and three boardrooms.

Other facilities include a 24-hour business centre, on-site parking and free wifi throughout.

The hotel is located around 3.5km north of the airport terminal, and a free shuttle bus is available from the arrivals area.

The Tribute Portfolio brand was unveiled in April 2015 by Starwood Hotels and Resorts (before its merger with Marriott International), and was described at the time as being a collection of “distinct properties who wish to maintain their independent spirit, yet benefit from Starwood’s powerful distribution, loyalty and sales platforms”.

The brand currently comprises around 30 properties across North America, France, Netherlands and Germany, as well as the UK where the Great Northern Hotel (located next to London’s Kings Cross and St Pancras stations) joined the collection in September 2015.
