Singapore Airlines (SIA) has started using the Airbus A330-300 aircraft on its flights to Adelaide.
This is the third Australian city to be serviced by the new aircraft after Brisbane and Perth.
The A330 replaces the Boeing B777-200 on the daily route and its Business cabin is configured to take fewer passengers (between 30 and 42 previously compared with 30 on the Airbus) and improve passenger comfort.
Customers in Business Class now enjoy seats that can fully recline into a flatbed in the 2-2-2 cabin layout.
Economy Class (seat capacity: 255) is configured in a 2-4-2 layout and offers passengers an enhanced IFE system that holds six times more movies than in the B777, larger screens, more legroom and iPod and iPhone connectors.
Lavatories onboard are also wheelchair-friendly.
Meanwhile, SIA plans to further deploy the A330 aircraft on flights to Nagoya next month and Osaka in March 2010.
