Fly with Etihad and see the ‘Giants of Golf’ for free

16 Dec 2011 by ScottCarey7
Etihad Airways is offering all passengers holding a boarding pass for December or January flights complimentary admission to see some of the biggest names in golf play in Abu Dhabi. Etihad has partnered with the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, which runs from January 26 to January 29, 2012 at the National Course, Abu Dhabi Golf Club. Guests must simply present their boarding pass at the gate on any given day to gain free entry. The tournament boasts its strongest ever field with world number one Luke Donald, defending champion Martin Kaymer, US Masters champion Charl Schwartzel and US Open champion Rory McIlroy all scheduled to appear alongside former world number ones Tiger Woods and Lee Westwood, as they look to battle it out for the US$2.7 million purse. Peter Baumgartner, chief commercial officer at Etihad said: “The chance to see these players for free is no doubt going to be an offer too good to miss for many golf fans.” Peter German, tournament director, added: “Etihad has been a long-time supporter of the championship and this promotion is a way of taking it to a wider audience and hopefully not only attracting golf lovers but also those who are just looking for a wonderful day out.” For those who don’t acquire championship tickets through the Etihad promotion tickets are available via the event’s official website, abudhabigolfchampionship.com, as well as online at timeouttickets.com and itptickets.com. Tickets are priced at AED 50 (£9) for a daily pass and AED 150 (£26.50) for a four-day pass. Report by Scott Carey
