American Airlines has completed a year-long refurbishment programme of its Admirals Club and Flagship lounges at Heathrow’s T3.

The carrier announced plans to refurbish the lounges (totalling 19,000 square foot of space) in April last year, the largest airport lounge renovation project AA has ever undertaken.

Among the improved amenities include:

  • a new business centre with HP personal computers, free wifi internet access, telephones, printers, copiers and a fax service
  • a global printing solution allowing guests to print jobs from anywhere via email and retrieve them in the lounge
  • showers
  • children’s room
  • terrazzo, carpet, stone and porcelain tile flooring
  • enhanced food and beverage offerings provided by London’s Rhubarb restaurants and caterers

The lounges have been reconfigured, with the Flagship lounge (open from 0600 to 2045 daily) doubling in size to accommodate 134 guests, and the Admirals Club lounge (open 0545 to 2000 daily) seating 237 visitors. Those wishing to visit the lounges but not holding sufficient loyalty tier status or travelling in the requisite class, can purchase annual Admirals Club membership from US$350 per year, or one-day passes from US$50.
