Mövenpick Hotel Saigon to reopen on August 1

Mövenpick Hotel Saigon is on track to reopen on August 1 after a five-month renovation, which will see major upgrades at the 278-room property. The hotel temporarily seized operations since March 8 to give way to a US$15-million major facelift that will transform it into an environmentally sound property. The engineering systems are being redesigned to help the hotel cut power consumption and a new smart building management system is being installed to monitor and control use of electricity. New double-glazed windows will provide superior insulation enabling the hotel to save on air-conditioning costs while recycled water from the hotel's roof  will be used in the chiller cooling system. "We've taken the renovation project as impetus for redefining hospitality as it is generally been known here and throughout Vietnam," said hotel general manager. "This means innovative promotions for business travellers and corporate meetings and other groups as well as a new standard of service for all guests." The hotel is using the renovation as an opportunity to re-allocate space within the property. Guests can expect larger venues for meetings and conferences with a maximum capacity for 450 people.
