Sarovar Hotels and Resorts launches The Laziz Premiere Nairobi

Nairobi

Sarovar Hotels and Resorts launched its fifth property last week – The Laziz Premiere Nairobi. It falls under the upscale category under the group’s Sarovar Premiere brand.

The 144-key property is located within close proximity to The Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. There are four in-house food and beverage offerings, which are Kitchen 9 (multi-cuisine restaurant), Aroma (Kenyan coffee shop), Velocity Bar (an English pub), Sky View Lounge (a contemporary lounge) and The Pool Deck (rooftop bar).

In addition, there are two meeting rooms and one board room that can together fit 200 delegates. Guests can revitalize at the infinity pool, the fitness centre and at the hotel’s spa.

In a recent press release, Ajay K Bakaya, the managing director of Sarovar Hotels stated: “Kenya is the business hub for Africa and has one of the most diverse accommodation facilities. Nairobi being the hub of East Africa offers a great launch pad for our expansion and growing our footprint in the African region. Travellers in transit, airline crews and other local and international visitors intending to avoid traffic enroute to the airport have not had much luck as most hotels are still quite a distance from the main international airport in the capital city. We are aiming to tap that segment with The Lazizi Premiere”.

Currently, there are four properties under the Sarovar Hotels and Resorts brand in Africa – The New Africa Hotel & Casino, The Heron Portico, The Zehneria Portico Nairobi and Panorama Sarovar Portico.

The Lalit London to open in January 2017

Baluchi at The Lalit London

India’s homegrown, The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group, will launch it’s first international property in London on January 26, 2017.

The group that is headquartered in Delhi, opened its first property in the capital city in 1988. Since then it has grown to a portfolio of 17 luxury hotels.

Keshav Suri, the executive director of The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group says, “It was our founder chairman, my father, Lalit Suri’s dream to own a hotel in London. We are delighted to realise his dream, with the launch of The Lalit London. The luxury boutique hotel is a Grade 2 listed building that housed St Olave’s Grammar School and more recently, Lambeth College. For the last five years it has been a labour of love – blending the best of Indian culture, hospitality and cuisine with the finest Victorian architecture. We are set to make it one of the city’s most desirable destinations.”

The 180-year old building is now a luxury boutique hotel with 70 spacious rooms. Each of the rooms that remain true to their original Victorian architecture, are dressed in Indian decor — furniture, light fixtures, artwork, tapestries, and marble and mother of pearl inlay.

The property will also house the brand’s signature pan Indian restaurant, Baluchi; The Terrace, a rooftop diner that serves international cuisine all day; two bars — The Teachers’ Room and The Headmaster’s Room; a gym; two meeting rooms; and Rejuve – The Spa.

The Lalit London is situated on Tooley Street, a three-minute walk from London Bridge station.
