Marriott Hotels and Resorts has opened a new property at YYC Calgary International Airport. The new 318-room Marriott is located between the existing domestic terminal and the new International Terminal Building at Calgary International Airport (YYC).
Rooms have views of the runway or the Calgary skyline, the Alberta Prairies and the Canadian Rocky Mountains, with each room having 49-inch flat-screen TVs, work table, mini-bar, in-room safe and soundproof windows. The hotel’s 318 rooms include 15 suites and the hotel also has an executive club (Concierge Floor) with an M CLUB Lounge. Additional facilities include a fitness centre with pool and whirlpool, over 18,350 square feet of meeting room space including 5,900 square foot Chinook Ballroom, and Yakima Social Kitchen + Bar offering open kitchen dining.
“We’re excited to welcome our first guests and have them experience urban sensibilities in an airport environment,” said Dan DeSantis, General Manager Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel. “The views from the hotel alone are sure to excite airplane and travel enthusiasts alike and create a guest experience unrivaled by any other airport property in Canada.”
The new $2 billion Calgary International Terminal will open at the end of October, and the airport has recently been renamed to add its IATA Code – it is now YYC Calgary International Airport.
