Mumbai’s hotels are preparing for a bumper week during the city’s “Make in India” event.

Held in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex, the event will welcome delegates from about 1,000 companies across 60 countries.

Premium hotel chains including The Oberoi, ITC, Taj, The Leela and Marriott are anticipating full bookings during this event.

The “Make in India” week is being organised by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) and the ministry of commerce and industry between February 13 and 18 and expects to generate a demand of 10,000 rooms.

Hotel chains anticipate around a 10 per cent increase in revenue during February, one of the busiest months for the industry in India.

Tariffs have also been raised by 15-20 per cent to make the most of this period.

Hotels such as JW Sahar and St Regis have set up special teams for the event and have also heightened their security for delegates staying at their properties.
