Eva Air to launch Taipei-Milan service in 2020

Taiwanese carrier Eva Air will add a four-times-weekly non-stop service between Taipei and Milan from February 18 next year.

The outbound flight is scheduled to depart from Taipei Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) at 2340 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, before touching down at Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) at 0630 the following day. The return leg is set to leave Milan at 1100 each Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, and land back in Taipei at 0630 the following day.

The airline will slightly adjust the flight schedule during the 2020 summer schedule between March 28 and October 24, 2020:

Eva Air will use a 353-seater Boeing B777-300ER aircraft on the route first. This aircraft features a three-class configuration with 39 business class seats (Royal Laurel class) configured in a 1-2-1 reverse herringbone setting, 56 premium economy class seats in a 2-4-2 layout, and 258 economy class seats in a 3-4-3 configuration.

According to Routesonline, the carrier will switch to the 323-seater version from March 24 next year, with 38, 64 and 221 seats in business class, premium economy and economy class, respectively.

Eva Air’s official website shows that it now only flies to four European cities: Amsterdam, London, Paris and Vienna. Milan will become its fifth destination in Europe. The city, located in northern Italy, is well-known for its fashion and design industry, especially the Milan Fashion Week event.

In other news, Eva Air took delivery of its first Boeing B787-10 Dreamliner in late June, and in January the airline unveiled new sleepwear and amenity kits for long-haul passengers.

Singapore Airlines has also boosted its flights between Singapore and Milan recently.
