Qatar Airways has announced a total of 14 new routes across Europe, Africa and Asia.

Among them is confirmation of what will be the world’s longest commercial flight between Doha and Auckland, which will launch as a daily B777 service on December 3.

Other new routes include:

  • Daily to Pisa from August 2
  • Thrice weekly to Sarajevo on September 7
  • Daily to Helsinki from October 10 (connecting with fellow Oneworld member Finnair’s hub)
  • Thrice weekly to Skopje (Macedonia) in November
  • The return of flights to Nice - five flights per week “by summer 2017”
  • Thrice weekly flights to Marrakech from July
  • Four flights per week to Windhoek from September 28
  • The resumption of daily flights to the Seychelles from December 12
  • Three linked flights per week to Douala (Cameroon) and Libreville (Gabon) from January
  • Thrice weekly services to Lusaka (Zambia) to launch “by summer 2017”
  • Four flights per week to Krabi from December 6
  • Thrice weekly flights to Chiang Mai in December

The new services will be made possible by current aircraft delivery schedules of one aircraft every ten days, on average.

Earlier this month Qatar Airways launched its first flights between Doha and Sydney (see news March 2).

The carrier also recently announced an expansion of Eastern European routes, with new flights to  Belgrade, and an increase in frequencies on several routes (see news January 25).
