Lufthansa releases First Class images

Following the delivery of its first A380 this morning (see online news May 19), Lufthansa has released real images of one of the superjumbo’s most anticipated features – its new First Class cabin
In a release today, Lufthansa also confirmed a number of features of the new cabin and its eight fully-flat beds.
Paying passengers will be able to experience the new 80 enters scheduled service on June 11, destined for Tokyo's Narita Airport out of Frankfurt (see online news April 29).
What we now know:-
- The bed will measure 2.07m (81.5 inches) in length, and 80cm (31.5 inches) wide.
- The intention was to match the cabin’s aesthetics with the First Class facilities at Frankfurt
- Each bed will have an adjustable privacy screen. A design including separate cabins was rejected during passenger testing
- Lufthansa said “sound absorbing carpets” will eliminate the noise of footsteps
- The lighting system will automatically adjust to the time of day
- Overhead lockers have been replaced by individual lockable closets

Looks just like any First Class today nothing special

Not impressive at all when you compare to Emirate's or Singapore Airlines offerings. Looks like a copy of the old Cathay Pacific first class from more than 8 years ago. Which consumer testing by first class passengers rejected private Suites? Middle and Far Eastern airlines are dominating in innovation, service and facilities.

Can't abide Private Suites and very impressed with this modern, sleek offering from Lufty.

LH is way behind the times and this is a seriously poor offering. This does not even compare with current BA biz class.

Absolutely agree 100% with EricYuDysanco and mohassam on this one. I feel very underwhelmed with the new LH F product.
Having flown NZ C and the new SQ C, my guess is that both offer a higher level of privacy and comfort than this new F product, and they are C products. Surely, if you're paying a high premium to fly F, you want complete privacy. If you're in one of the middle seats and if you're travelling solo, you won't get this on LH F. Even if you do raise the centre partition, it's not enough.
It seems that LH has been too self-obsessed and too busy slapping themselves on their backs for buying in to the A380 concept that they have let design, innovation and the chance to really differentiate themselves fall by the wayside.

Looks very spacious, calm and conversative and if the soundproofing is as good as they claim, should give a very restful journey. I am not a fan of the cubicle layout, but hope the privacy screens are effective enough to give some sense of enclosure. I find LH First passengers more concerned with food and service level than privacy, so no surprise with this - leave the bling to Emirates.

Very disapointing cabin. no privacy at all and no real new design initiatives. Qantas seem to have got the balance right with their cabin.

To the extent that closed off individual cabins (such as on Emirates and SQ) offer greater privacy, they also result in a somewhat claustrophobic environment over a 12+ hour flight. For me, the LH First Class seat offers the right balance. There is a screen that rises which offers privacy from others viewing your face from the aisle that can be used in both the upright and reclined position, whilst still giving the passenger a feeling of space absent in the EK and SQ models. Also, the seat seems wider than the SQ and EK seats where much space is taken up by cabin panelling ect. PLUS..... (and this is important!), unlike the herringbone configurations, you can still see out the window clearly and have access to natural light on day flights. LH, I like your work.

Agree with AlexUpgrade77 - you don't want to be flying 12 hours in a plastic closet - that is claustrophobic. I think LH provides the right balance.
