Icelandic flag carrier Icelandair has launched a premium economy cabin on its aircraft, Economy Comfort class. The airline’s fleet has also been fully refitted with ergonomically designed seats in economy and first class, and a personal seatback in-flight entertainment (IFE) system.

All planes have now been fitted with the new class of seat, which has an increased legroom of 84cm (33 inches), three centimetres more than in economy class, and a seat width of 48cm (19 inches), compared with 43cm in economy.

Economy Comfort passengers can use the Saga Class (first class) check-in facilities and lounge at the airport and once on board will have access to the new touchscreen IFE system, as well as being served a complimentary meal with wine, beer and soft drinks.

The IFE system offers films (although economy class passengers get reduced content), documentaries, music and games, as well as an interactive language programme so travellers can learn basic Icelandic.

Icelandair flies from London Heathrow, Manchester and Glasgow to Reykjavik, with ongoing connections to destinations in North America.
