Iberia has begun the rollout out of its revamped corporate identity, taking delivery of the first aircraft featuring the new livery and logo.
The Spanish carrier announced details of the revamped logo last month (see news, October 15), and has now received its first Airbus A330 emblazoned with the new livery.
The aircraft has been christened Juan Carlos I after the current king of Spain, and features the carrier’s latest economy and business class seating which was launched earlier this year (see news, January 31).
Iberia's ground staff and cabin crew have also started sporting uniforms featuring the new identity, and the airline’s hub at Madrid airport’s T4 has also been updated.
At the unveiling ceremony Antonio Vazquez - who is stepping down as non-executive chairman of Iberia but who will remain in the same position within parent company IAG - said that "it is very gratifying that my last public act as Iberia’s chairman should be nothing less than the launch of our new corporate image, reflecting of the new Iberia, and the presentation of the aircraft bearing the name of his Majesty the King".
