Iberia to launch Manchester-Madrid route

Iberia’s regional franchise partner Air Nostrum is to launch daily flights between Madrid and Manchester from the end of October, competing with Ryanair on the route.
Air Nostrum recently announced a new twice-weekly route between Madrid and Glasgow (see online news July 19), and will now also operate flights to Manchester from the Spanish capital commencing on October 31.
Flights are now available for purchase online at iberia.com, with the Manchester bound leg departing Madrid at 1545 and arriving at 1705, and the return leg leaving Manchester at 1735 and landing back in Spain at 2055.
Ryanair currently offers a four-times weekly service between the two cities, departing Madrid at 1635 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, arriving into Manchester at 1825, with the return leg leaving at 1850, arriving at 2240.
Air Nostrum, also known as Iberia Regional, is an independent airline operating as a franchisee of Iberia. The carrier operates mainly Bombardier CRJ aircraft.
