Easybus has
launched a new service between Fulham Broadway and Gatwick airport, and is
celebrating with £2 one-way fares until December 15.
The airport
bus-transfer operator, which already serves Stansted and Luton airports from
central London, will ply the route between Gatwick’s North Terminal and Fulham
Broadway underground station (on the District Line) every twenty minutes.
Easybus says its
£2 promotional one-way fare is 89 per cent cheaper than the Gatwick Express
service, but readers should note the journey takes considerably longer. On
weekdays the first 19-seater minibus leaves Gatwick at 0630, arriving at Fulham
Braodway 85 minutes later at 0730. The last service of the day departs Gatwick
at 2300, arriving at 0025. In the opposite direction the first service leaves
Fulham at 0600, arriving into Gatwick at 0705, with the last bus departing at
2200, arrving at 2305. Timings differ slightly at weekends.
This compares
with a 30-minute journey between Gatwick’s South Terminal and London Victoria
on the Gatwick Express, costing £16.90 one-way (the first service leaving
London Victoria at 0500, and from Gatwick at 0550).
Easybus’
promotional fare is valid until December 15, for tickets booked online at
easybus.co.uk at least 24 hours in advance.
