Air France KLM-owned Cityjet will commence a six times-weekly service between London City and Florence next year.
The route launches on January 10, 2011, with flights departing London at 0925 Monday to Friday and 1505 on Sunday, and arriving in Florence at 1240 and 1820 respectively. The return leg will leave Italy at 1315 Monday to Friday (1855 on Sunday), landing back in London at 1440 and 2020 respectively.
Fares start from £79 one-way, and Cityjet says that almost 40 per cent of passengers using Florence airport are travelling on business, with the city and its surrounding region representing the third-biggest industrial centre in Italy.
Currently the only direct flights from London to Florence are with Italian carrier Meridiana Fly, with a twice-daily service from Gatwick. BA codeshares on this service.
