BA Openskies "gearing up for growth"

BA’s Openskies subsidiary is preparing to announce a new route “in the very near future”, according to managing director Dale Moss.
The transatlantic carrier launched in June 2008 with flights from Paris to New York, and integrated french airline L’Avion into its offering later that year when BA bought the all-business class carrier for a reported £54 million.
But 2009 was a difficult year for BA Openskies, with expansion plans postponed and its service between Amsterdam and New York suspended in August.
However in a blog on the carrier’s website (flagged up in a recent forum post), managing director Dale Moss says that the airline sees some “nice improvement in both volume and yield”, and adds that there is “good news on the horizon”, with a new destination to be announced “in the very near future”.
Moss is encouraging customers to guess which of the following six routes will be announced:
- New York – Milan
- Washington DC – Paris
- New York – Madrid
- Chicago – Paris
- Boston – Paris
- New York – Brussels

As I see it Openskies has to play to their strengths - probably best known in Paris and their base, good for generating awareness of new route and logistic of starting up.
New York, ( to anywhere) can use the massive BA presence and lounges at modest incremental cost.
Montreal, (to Paris) lots of francophonia to help a Paris route.
Milan, (to New York) weak opposition at present with Alitalia unable to invest in their product, for now.
Madrid to New York, cuts across Iberia, thus a no-no.
Washington to Paris, or indeed anywhere, thwarted by US Govt restrictions that still apply to cause employess/servicemen/diplomats to always choose US carriers (no Open Skies in Washington!) and thus materially reducing possible passenger count
My hunch - for what worth Paris -Montreal, or Milan - New York as a second choice.

Either Washington DC-Paris or more likely a routing to the Middle East.
