Russian carrier Aeroflot is the latest airline to begin services using the B777-300ER, operating initially between Moscow and Bangkok.
The aircraft is configured in three classes, with 30 fully-flat seats in business, 48 in the newly introduced Comfort class (premium economy) and 324 in economy. All seats are fitted with the Thales i5000 in-flight entertainment system, with screens in business class measuring 15.4 inches, 10.6 inches in Comfort class and 8.9 inches in economy.
At 38-inches Comfort class provides an extra six inches of legroom from economy (32 inches) and is configured 2-4-2, whereas economy is in the ultra-dense 3-4-3, as reported by our consumer editor Alex McWhirter in November last year (see online news November 1, 2012).
Aeroflot has 16 B777-300ERs on order with Boeing, and plans on launching the aircraft on routes to Phuket in March, New-York, Hong Kong and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in eastern Russia in April, and Seoul in May.
It was revealed yesterday that Air Canada will configure some of its B777-300ERs with 458 seats, including a ten-across economy layout (see online news February 7).
