Jumeirah enters Malaysian market

14 Aug 2015 by Clement Huang

Global hotel company Jumeirah Group has announced it will operate a 190-room luxury hotel and 273 serviced residences in Kuala Lumpur.

Both Jumeirah Kuala Lumpur hotel and Jumeirah Living Kuala Lumpur residences will be housed within one of three towers as part of a yet to be named mixed-use development. Construction for the hotel and residences is set to begin in 2016, with completion scheduled for 2021.

Jumeirah Living Kuala Lumpur residences will occupy the lower floors of the tower, while Jumeirah Kuala Lumpur hotel will be located in the upper levels, re-enforcing its position as a luxury property.

Along with 190 guestrooms, the hotel will feature an all-day dining restaurant, a fine dining restaurant, a lounge and bar, as well as a club lounge and Jumeirah’s signature Talise wellness facility comprising a spa, fitness club and swimming pool.

All towers will be interlinked via a retail podium, and are located in the city centre within easy reach of the iconic Petronas Twin Towers. Other nearby attractions include the Maxis Tower and the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

Jumeriah Group’s entry into the Malaysian market is part of ongoing expansion plans that have the group currently operating 23 hotels in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. A further 25 properties are in the pipeline, with 11 of those in India, Indonesia and China.
