Gulf Air to open Heathrow T4 lounge

22 Feb 2011 by BusinessTraveller

The carrier will finally unveil its new lounge at Heathrow Terminal 4 next month.

Premium passengers flying with the carrier from London Heathrow currently have use of the Skyteam lounge at T4, but Gulf Air will open its own “state-of-the-art” facility on March 8.

The lounge has been a long time in the planning, with consultancy firm McBains Cooper having been contracted to deliver the project back in 2008.

At the time the company said that the lounge would be completed in March 2009, and would feature “luxurious seating for more than 30 people”, “washrooms with shower facilities”, “hand-baggage and coat storage”, “wireless internet connection”, “light refreshments and snacks”, “TV monitors”, and “newspapers and magazines”.

A spokesperson for Gulf Air confirmed that the launch would go ahead as planned despite the political unrest in Bahrain.
