Residents of Hongkong and Macau are finding it easier to depart from Beijing Capital Airport, thanks to the newly installed “self-service E-channels”.
At any of the 20 fast-track lanes, passengers can scan their entry-exit "Travel Permit for Residents of Hong Kong and Macau to Mainland China" in about 10 seconds.
Chinese citizens, however, will still have to have their documents manually processed, although authorities said the service would eventually be extended to them, but did not furnish a time frame.
