Open air pact between Korea and Canada

23 Nov 2008

Korea and Canada concluded an open-skies agreement, which is expected to ease the shortage of seats on passenger flights to the North American country.

Korea is the first Asian nation to clinch the landmark pact, which means carriers from both sides will not require government authorisation when entering each other’s airspace.

Korean Air, Asiana Airlines and Air Canada can now operate 200 weekly flights to and from Canada.
