Pullman rebrand for Park Lane Hong Kong

5 Nov 2014 by GrahamSmith

Accor has announced that The Park Lane Hong Kong hotel will join its Pullman brand at the beginning of next year.

The iconic 826-room hotel will reopen under a franchise agreement as The Park Lane Hong Kong, a Pullman Hotel on January 1, following a HK$200 million (£16.2 million) refurbishment.

It will be Accor's 600th property in the Asia Pacific region.

Michael Issenberg, Accor's Asia Pacific chairman and CEO, said: "Very unusually, the name of this hotel is going to be The Park Lane Hong Kong, a Pullman Hotel. We had to be careful with the blend, because this has been a very successful hotel and we need to make sure we keep the best of what is Park Lane and give people the benefit of both."

The refurbishment work will include the hotel's suites, executive floors, restaurants, meeting rooms and executive lounge. Renovation of the first two floors of guest rooms was recently completed, as was a new garden rooftop, available for meetings and events.

Issenberg added: "The addition of The Park Lane Hong Kong to the Pullman brand is a huge milestone for Accor because it brings us a strategic hotel in the centre of one of the world's most important business and tourism hubs at a time when Pullman is really affirming itself as one of the most exciting hotel brands in the region.

"The fact that it becomes our 600th hotel in the region is further cause for celebration because it is testament to Accor's strong growth in the region and our investment in Pullman as a brand of the future."

The rebranded property will remain under the same management but will leave the Worldhotels alliance and become available through Pullman's marketing and distribution channels.
