10 Dec 2013 by GrahamSmith

Qatar Airways will launch a four-times weekly service to Cyprus in April.

The new route will be operated by an Airbus A320 in a two-class configuration with 12 seats in business and 132 in economy.

From April 29, Qatar will fly to Larnaca International Airport on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Outbound flight QR265 departs Doha at 0810 and arrives at Larnaca at 1200, while return service QR266 leaves Larnaca at 1410 and lands in Doha at 1745.

A statement from the airline said: "Larnaca is a destination that Qatar Airways is pleased to be providing a regular scheduled service to."

Qatar Airways has launched eleven destinations so far this year – to Gassim, Saudi Arabia; Najaf, Iraq; Phnom Penh, Cambodia; Chicago, US; Salalah, Oman; Basra, Iraq; Sulaymaniyah, Iraq; Chengdu, China; Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Ta’if, Saudi Arabia; and Clark Manila International Airport, Philippines.

On October 30, the Gulf carrier joined the Oneworld alliance (see news, October 29).
