United Airlines has introduced flat-bed seats in business class on its "Premium Service" routes from New York JFK to Los Angeles and from JFK to San Francisco.

The move follows the complete redesign of all 15 Boeing 757-200 aircraft that ply the two routes.

Each revamped jet offers 28 fully-flat seats in business, as well as 42 extra-legroom premium economy (Economy Plus) seats and 72 economy seats.

The refurbished aircraft also offer inflight wifi, power outlets and USB ports at every seat, and an additional two-inches of legroom in premium economy.

Jeff Foland, United's executive vice president of marketing, technology and strategy, said: "Our investment in these aircraft will add greatly to our flyer-friendly customer experience on these coast-to-coast flights."

United Airlines will be the first airline to operate a flight into the new Queen's Terminal at London Heathrow next June (see news, November 6).

When you say New York do you mean JFK as I don't believe they are on the Newark routes?

Yes. JFK has been added. Thanks.
