LuganoPirateParticipantDo they really allow a naked flame to be carried on an aircraft?

VoyageVoyageParticipantLuganoPirate: I bet they will!
The Olympic Commitee has always been proud of keeping the flame alive regardless of the circumstances. Have a look at the following link!

JordanDParticipantCome on guys – a few hours behind the curve!
http://www.businesstraveller.com/discussion/topic/British-Airways-Olympic-Livery-(Not-Dove)
The CAA classify the Olympic Flame as a ceremonial flame and – as mentioned above – they are allowed to keep it alight, providing precautions are taken place. So into a miner’s lamp it goes and it is afixed to the seat by way of a cradle. I remember seeing a documentary on the Olympic Flame being taken from Athens to Sydney and that the only time the CEO of Sydney’s bid team didn’t have his hand on it before it was afixed to the seat was goes through the metal detecting arch.

VintageKrugParticipantBraniff was indeed one of only four carriers to operate Concorde.

Makes you wonder really why BA never did a code share or bring SQ into Oneworld if the partnership worked back then.

LuganoPirateParticipantI have in the back of my mind that Iran Air also operated a Concorde. Anyone else remember?

Binman62ParticipantYou have to love Boris…described the Gold livery as Crème Caramel…….
Not aware that Iran Air were ever a recognised operator though they did Charter the aircraft for a while to operate between Paris and Tehran.
Like many others they did place an order for 2 aircraft and an option for another. Their sales shop in Piccadilly rather cheekily has a Concorde model on display…or rather it did the last time I passed that way, which was some time ago.
