Doubletree by Hilton Shenzhen Longhua
Hilton has launched the first full-service, international hotel to open in the district of Longhua, Shenzhen. A 45-minute drive from Shenzhen Bao’an airport, the hotel has 238 rooms including 12 suites. Larger rooms measure 48 sqm, and feature work areas, 42-inch LCD TVs, high-speed wifi and Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries. There are four restaurants, a 24-hour gym, an outdoor pool (opening June 30), three whirpools and event space, including a 738 sqm pillarless ballroom and six meeting rooms.
Holiday Inn Montreal Centre-ville West, Quebec
Holiday Inn has opened a new property in the heart of downtown Montreal. Located near the Bell Centre sports complex and Place du Canada, the hotel occupies 15 floors of a multi use building, with 221 rooms that offer views of the city centre and Mont Royal mountain. Rooms come with 43-inch HD TVs, Keurig coffee stations and a work desk, while the hotel’s 32 suites also have a separate living area. Hotel facilities include a southern Italian and American restaurant, a gym and an indoor salted swimming pool with a steam bath and whirlpool.
Country Inn and Suites by Carlson Mount Pleasant-Racine West, Wisconsin
Carlson Rezidor has completed a US$1 million renovation of its Country Inns and Suites property near Lake Michigan, about an hour and a half’s drive from Chicago. The hotel has 92 upgraded rooms and suites, plus a business centre, a gym, an indoor pool and whirpool tub. For meetings, there are 36 sqm of event space, accommodating up to 25 people.
Fairmont Royal Palm Marrakech
Opened in May, the hotel is set on 231 hectares of palm, olive and orange trees, and features 134 rooms, suites and villas, four restaurants, an 18-hole golf course and a country club. Additional facilities include a 2,000 sqm heated swimming pool, a sports centre with four tennis courts, a squash court, a semi-Olympic swimming pool, a gym and yoga studio plus a 3,500 sqm spa with a hammam, salon and nail bar.
Cristallo, a Luxury Collection Resort and Spa
Marriott International has announced that the Cristallo hotel – located in the Dolomites – will be added to The Luxury Collection. Originally opened in 1901, the hotel has 74 rooms including 20 suites and two Presidential suites, alongside four restaurants and a 1,600 sqm spa. Offering views across the Italian town of Cortina d’Ampezzo and the southern Alps, the hotel also has a nine-hole golf course and a club house in partnership with the Golf Club Cortina.

Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island Resort
Hilton has announced plans to open a new property in Abu Dhabi’s Yas Bay in 2019. Set on the waterfront, the hotel will have a multi-purpose conference centre, seven restaurants and an “urban beach concept” with an infinity pool. It will be within easy reach of Yas Arena, a 18,000 capacity indoor arena, and the Yas Marina Circuit race track, which hosts the annual Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix.
Novotel Adagio Leicester Waterfront
Accorhotels has announced that it will open a new property in Leicester. Operating as a combined Novotel and Adagio aparthotel, the property will have 250 rooms, with 150 of those under the Novotel brand and 100 under Adagio. Due to open in early 2019, this will be the first combined Novotel and Adagio property in the UK, located opposite the High Cross Shopping Centre on Leicester’s Vaughan Way.
Movenpick Hotel Basel
Movenpick Hotels and Resorts will open a new Basel property in 2019. Located in the city centre next to the central SBB railway station, the hotel will have 264 rooms including 50 Movenpick Sleep rooms, where guests benefit from individually adjustable beds. In addition, there will be 1,800 sqm of meeting space including a 500 sqm ballroom that can hold 600 people. A modern brasserie will serve specialty dishes from Switzerland, France and Germany while a wine and coffee lounge will serve drinks in the hotel lobby.
