United has enhanced its premium transcontinental service, with an upgraded meal service and amenities for business class passengers, and complimentary hot meals for Economy Plus customers.

The airline also announced this week that flights between Boston and San Francisco will be added to its premium transcontinental route network, joining existing Newark-Los Angeles and Newark-San Francisco services.

Up to 28 fully flat seats will be available in premium business class on the Boston-San Francisco route beginning on July 1, 2017.

“We routinely see high demand for travel between our coasts and we want to provide the same level of quality typically reserved for international routes – this includes all flat-bed seating in business class as well as an industry-leading dining experience for customers in Economy Plus,” says Mark Krolick, United’s vice president of marketing.

“Boston business customers connecting via SFO, our Asia/Pacific hub, to destinations throughout the Asia-Pacific region will be able to enjoy a flat-bed business class seat for the duration of their journey.”

In addition to fully flat seating, premium transcontinental business class travellers will enjoy United’s Polaris in-flight service, including bedding from Saks Fifth Avenue, amenity kids with Soho House and Co’s Cowshed Spa toiletries, drinks by Crafthouse Cocktails, a hot-towel service, and improved dessert and snack options.

Meals in Economy Plus class will include hot entrees, fruit, dessert, and drinks inspired by United’s coastal destinations.
