Aloft Hotels is to open its first property in Ireland next year, located in Dublin’s Liberties quarter.

Aloft Dublin City will feature 202 rooms with free wifi, platform beds and large walk-in showers, two meeting spaces, and signature facilities including the Wxyz bar, Recharge fitness centre and Refuel 24-hour deli.

The property’s Remix lobby lounge will be located on the top floor of the hotel with views of the city, and there will be two “independently operated retail spaces” on the ground floor.

Aloft currently operates six European properties across Belgium, Germany, Turkey and the UK, with a further five set to open in the next two year. The brand’s global portfolio comprises over 100 hotels in 16 countries.

Dublin’s regenerated Liberties area was once home to the city’s tannery and leather trade, and now features a number of media and technology companies, alongside attractions including the Guinness Storehouse Museum, and the country’s largest church, St Patrick’s Cathedral.

Aloft Dublin City will join four properties under the recently merged Marriott and Starwood portfolio in Ireland: The Westin Dublin, The Shelbourne Dublin, A Renaissance Hotel, Powerscourt Hotel, Autograph Collection, and the Sheraton Athlone Hotel.

Commenting on the new hotel Carlton Ervin, Marriott International’s Chief Development Officer, Europe said:

“This market debut underscores our strategic commitment to accelerate the Aloft Hotels brand in key destinations such as Dublin.

“The continued draw of Aloft’s stylish, yet keenly-priced accommodation together with its suitability and adaptability for multiple locations, means we are seeing an ever-increasing demand among our partners for its distinctive offer.”
