Japan Airlines (JAL) and China Eastern Airlines will expand their Mileage Partnership Agreements on June 1, 2011, to include more flights, allowing passengers to accumulate and redeem more miles with both carriers.
The revised agreement will enable JAL Mileage Bank (JMB) members to earn miles on all flights operated by China Eastern Airlines on Japan-China routes and domestic routes in China. Previously, JMB members could only earn miles on code-share flights with China Eastern Airlines. This expansion now covers 28 additional routes eligible for mileage accrual.
However, flights operated by Shanghai Airlines, China Eastern’s subsidiary, are not including in the partnership.
The Mileage Partnership Agreement was first signed in February 2008.
