AA offers 100,000 bonus miles and first class upgrades

27 Jan 2009 by Mark Caswell
Members of American Airlines’ AAdvantage loyalty scheme can earn up to 100,000 bonus miles for flights taken over the next few months, while business class passengers can enjoy a first class upgrade. The carrier is offering the bonus miles for flights taken before March 31 between London Heathrow, Manchester or Dublin and the US. The extra miles start from 10,000 for two return trips taken in economy (fare codes Y, B or H), rising to 20,000 for three return trips, and 40,000 for four return trips. Business and first class passengers will see the bonus miles rack up even quicker, with two return flights on fares codes F, P, J, A, D or R earning 20,000 bonus miles, three trips earning 40,000 miles, and four return trips earning the maximum 100,000 bonus miles. Note that in all cases a return trip can be substituted for two one-way flights. Meanwhile AA is also offering one-way first class upgrades for passengers booking full fare business class return tickets from London Heathrow to selected US destinations. Both legs must be taken before March 31, and flights must be booked with a travel agent or by contacting American Airlines Reservations on +44 (0)207 365 0777.
