Business travellers staying at an Accorhotels property can now connect with other professionals nearby using the hotel company’s app.

The new service, Business Check powered by Linkedin, is designed to facilitate business opportunities between professionals while on the move.

The app enables travellers to identify and contact people in their professional network who are located in the city, as well as suggesting relevant profiles to connect with.

The service also enables users to share their next business trip with their Linkedin network.

Speaking about the new service, Romain Roulleau, Accorhotels’ senior vice president for e-commerce and digital services, said: “This partnership between Accorhotels and Linkedin is a world first in the hospitality industry. It will enrich the services we already offer on our mobile app, which is used before, during and after the stay, notably by business travellers, who represent 60 per cent of the app’s users.”

The service is available in 18 languages, including English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic and Thai.

“There are over 26 million business travellers on Linkedin and by partnering with one of the world’s leading travel groups, these professionals can now be even more informed, connected and productive while on the go,” said Joshua Graff, VP marketing solutions EMEA for Linkedin. “We all like to get the most out of our business trips abroad and this new feature will make it even easier to connect with clients, prospects, suppliers and colleagues old and new.”
