Hong Kong’s Hotel Icon has rolled out a free smartphone service to all guests, following a successful trial period.
The initiative entitles guests to unlimited high-speed 3G data, free wifi and unlimited international and local calls during their stay.
The smartphones are also pre-loaded with a digital location-based city guide, along with access to local promotions, a map of the city’s metro, and travel apps including news services and a currency converter.
The hotel – located in the Kowloon district of Hong Kong – said that “After initial on-site research and a successful trial period, during which the hotel received consistently positive feedback from guests, Hotel Icon felt the smartphone added a positive guest experience”.
