Jet 2 drops card fees

4 Jan 2016 by BusinessTraveller

Low-cost carrier and holiday package operator Jet 2 has dropped its fees for customers paying by debit and credit cards via its websites.

The company said that in doing so it has become “the very first package holiday company in the UK to stop these charges, saving holidaymakers even more money on their well earned breaks”.

Travellers will no longer be charged fees when paying for packages via jet2holidays.com, or flight-only bookings with jet2.com.

The carrier is also waiving fees for bookings made by PayPal. The only exception according to jet2holidays.com is a 2.5 per cent fee for bookings made by American Express.

Announcing the move CEO Steve Heapy said: “We pride ourselves in offering friendly low fares and great value package holidays and this is why we have decided to stop charging our customers for credit card bookings.”
