Easyjet has begun flying a new winter service between London Stansted and Reykjavik.

The low-cost airline has rostered an A320 on to the route, which started yesterday and operates twice-weekly, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

On Wednesdays, outbound service EZY3033 departs Stansted at 1230 and arrives in Reykjavik at 1540. Return leg EZY3034 leaves Reykjavik at 1620 and lands in London at 1920.

On Saturdays, outbound service EZY3033 departs Stansted at 1445 and arrives in Reykjavik at 1755. Return leg EZY3034 leaves Reykjavik at 1835 and lands in London at 2135.

Dimitrios Schoinas, Easyjet's London route manager, said: "There is a growing demand for short and long breaks in Iceland and we are able to make it convenient to reach both sides of the route and to provide value for British and Icelandic consumers."

Easyjet launched the first direct service between Belfast and Reykjavik at the end of last year (see news, December 2014).
