Finnair A350 to offer free wifi

Finnair will provide free wifi access to premium passengers flying on its new A350 XWB. Oneworld Sapphire and Emerald members, Finnair Plus Gold and Platinum members and business class passengers will have full, complimentary internet access on board the aircraft, which is due for delivery tomorrow. Economy passengers will be able to buy online access either by the hour (€5) or for the duration of the flight (€15). Finnair IFE Finnair IFE The on board wifi portal, which passengers will be able to access using their own devices, provides access to finnair.com and services such as destination information, customer care and pre-order shopping. Full internet access can be purchased via the wifi portal or by using an internet voucher code. Once delivered, the A350 will be rostered on to crew familiarisation flights, including from Helsinki to London Heathrow, Paris Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam Schiphol. The A350's first long-haul route, a daily service between Helsinki and Shanghai, scheduled to commence on November 21. Finnair IFE shopping Finnair IFE Finnair is the first airline in Europe to operate the A350 and the third worldwide, following Qatar Airways (see news, December 2014) and Vietnam Airlines (see news, June 30). It has 19 of the aircraft on order, each equipped with wifi, and expects to receive the first four by the end of this year.
