Star Alliance member Air China has announced several service upgrades that will become effective before the end of the year.
Newark, US
According to airlineroute.net, the Chinese carrier will be boosting its operations to the New York area with the launch of a four-times weekly service from Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) – Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) on October 26.
Served by a B777-300ER, flight CA819 will depart Beijing at 0935, and arrive in Newark at 1005. Return service CA820 will leave EWR at 1225, arriving back in Beijing at 1455 the following day.
Los Angeles, US
On July 1, Air China also increased its Los Angeles service to three-times daily.
The additional flight CA887 served by a B777-300ER departs PEK at 1200, arriving in LAX at 0900, while the return service will take off from Los Angeles at 1130 before touching back down in the Chinese capital at 1510 the following day.
Sydney, Australia
Sydney will also gain four extra services per week over the summer season, served by the A330.
From November 16 until March 26 2015, CA193 will depart Beijing at 1030 every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, arriving in Sydney at 1310 the next day.
Flight CA194 departs Sydney at 1500 every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, arriving in Beijing at 2350.
These upgrades come hot on the heels of other recent announcements including increased codeshare agreements with United (here), launch of flights from Beijing to Mumbai (here), new service to Colombo (here) and new routes to African destinations (here).
