Starwood has opened its third Aloft hotel in Miami.
The 235-room Aloft South Beach is located in the former Motel Ankara; the 1960s building has been renovated and now includes an eight-storey “tower”.
The hotel is one block from the beach and nearby South Beach and the Miami Beach Convention Center.
Facilities include 218 sqm of flexible meeting space, an outdoor swimming pool, roof deck lounge, a 24-hour fitness centre and free wifi.
Brian McGuinness, Starwood’s global brand leader of specialty select brands, said: “As the fastest growing brand in the history of hospitality, Aloft continues to generate demand in key markets worldwide, and we look forward to continuing the momentum as we near the 100th hotel milestone later this summer.”
The property, which is the eighth Aloft hotel in Florida, is managed by Sage Hospitality.
Aloft South Beach joins Aloft Miami Brickell and Aloft Miami Doral, both of which opened in 2013 (see news, August 2013).
