Thailand-based real estate developer Grand Canal Land (G Land) has appointed New World Hotels & Resorts to manage the New World Grand Rama 9, Bangkok Hotel when it opens in mid-2017.
“Bangkok represents an important strategic expansion for us in Asia and we are very pleased to partner with Grand Canal Land to showcase our ‘modern Oriental hospitality’ in such a significant development in the Thai capital,” says Sonia Cheng, chief executive officer of Rosewood Hotel Group, New World Hotels & Resorts’ parent company.
The 285-room hotel will be part of the Grand Rama 9 mixed-use development located at the Rama 9 Intersection off Ratchadapisek Road. As part of Bangkok’s emerging new central business district, the mixed-use development will consist of eight residential towers; grade A office space; a 3,000sqm convention centre; and The Shoppes Grand Rama 9 complex.
Architectural design of the hotel will be led by Bangkok-based A49 while Singapore’s White Jacket will manage the hotel’s interiors. New World Grand Rama 9, Bangkok Hotel will offer the brand’s signature Residence Club executive floors and lounge.
It will also feature several F&B outlets, including a lobby lounge, café, speciality restaurant and rooftop pool bar. Despite its close proximity to the convention centre, the hotel will also offer multiple meeting facilities totalling 1,300sqm. Finally, recreational options will include a rooftop pool and fitness centre.
