Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group will soon open a resort in Marrakech, Morocco.
Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech is expected to begin operations in April 2015, with bookings set to open in coming weeks. The resort is set in 20 hectares of landscaped olive groves with views of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains.
The resort has 54 private walled villas, each with its own pool and hot tus, along with extensive areas for sunbathing and shaded alfresco dining.
The resort also has nine suites – seven of which have their own rooftop plunge pool and offer views of the gardens and surrounding countryside.
There are also five dining outlets available. While the names of the restaurants haven’t been revealed yet, Mandarin Oriental did confirm that there would be a modern Spanish restaurant with an open kitchen concept, as well as a tapas bar, cocktail bar, pool house grill, and a Moroccan signature restaurant operated by a celebrity chef.
For recreational purposes, Mandarin Oriental Marrakech also offers a 1,800sqm spa, with four individual treatment rooms and two suites for couples. There are also outdoor treatment areas under the olive trees, as well as two hammams with private scrub rooms.
A beauty salon offering hairdressing services is also available, while there is also an indoor swimming pool, fitness centre and yoga room.
Finally, the resort also offers a range of meeting facilities, including a ballroom that can accommodate up to 80 guests for cocktail functions, and two smaller boardrooms. The gardens are also available for private functions, and these have a capacity for up to 1,000 guests.
