American Airlines receives approval for daily Dallas–Beijing service

23 Jan 2015 by Clement Huang
American Airlines (AA) has received approval from authorities to begin operating a new daily service between its base in Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) from May 7. Beijing will be the carrier’s sixth daily service to Asia. The carrier already serves the Chinese capital out of Chicago, and flies from Dallas to Hong Kong (see here), Seoul-Incheon (see here), Shanghai, and Tokyo-Narita. Customers may begin booking for the DFW–PEK flights from Jan 24. "The Asia-Pacific region is a key market for Americans and we would like to thank the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and the US Department of Transportation for granting us the authority to operate this very important service,” said Andrew Nocella, American’s chief marketing officer. "This new route gives our customers direct access between these two key business markets for the first time and will also provide customers hundreds of connecting opportunities to destinations worldwide." AA will deploy a B777-200 on the DFW–Beijing route, which will offer the refreshed cabins that the carrier introduced last year (see here). Flight AA89 will depart DFW daily at 1040 and arrive in PEK at 1415 the following day. The return AA88 service will then take off from PEK at 1625 and touch back down in DFW at 1700.
