The Oneworld alliance has added two new benefits for its top tier Sapphire and Emerald members.
The elite tier members now benefit from priority baggage delivery when travelling in any cabin class with Oneworld member airlines anywhere in the world. Note that priority baggage delivery is not available on flights operated by British Airways.
In addition Sapphire members now receive additional luggage allowances on any flight operated and marketed by any Oneworld airline.
The exact details of the new allowance depend on whether the passenger is flying on a domestic or international itinerary, and whether a weight or per piece luggage allowance is in operation – more information is available here.
Note again that there is an exception when flying on BA hand baggage only fares, where the extra luggage allowance does not apply.
