A New York hotel boasting 12,000 Baccarat crystal items is set to open on December 22 this year.
The property, on Fifth Avenue and 53rd Street, is the first of the Baccarat Hotel & Residences planned by Starwood Capital Group. The hotel is located opposite the Museum of Modern Art and will have 114 rooms and 60 residences featuring items by the 250-year-old French brand.
Although a new build with a contemporary exterior design, rooms will be styled to suit the Baccarat look, with oak wood flooring, velvet sofas, silk wall coverings and marble tables.
The development includes an 85-seat restaurant by chef Shea Gallante, a 60-foot bar and outdoor terrace.
Further openings under the Baccarat brand are planned for the Moroccan capital Rabat next year and Dubai in 2018.
