Qatar Airways is adding a second A380 service to its Doha to London Heathrow route in December.
The Gulf carrier took delivery of the first of its two superjumbos in a ceremony at Airbus' Hamburg factory last week (see news, September 17).
It will launch its inaugural A380 service to LHR on October 10 as flights QR003/QR004.
The outbound service will depart Doha at 0755 and arrive in London at 1315 local time, with the return flight leaving Heathrow at 1505 and landing in Doha at 2350.
Then, on December 1, it will add a second superjumbo onto the route, reports airlineroute.net.
That schedule will see flight QR001 depart Doha at 1250 and land in London at 1730 local time, with the return service taking off from LHR at 2030 and arriving back in Doha at 0615 the next day.
These flight times work well for connections via Doha on the "Kangaroo Route" to Australia.
The news of the second flight clears up some confusion after Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker mentioned QR001 at last week's Hamburg press conference.
The airline's A380 has 517 seats with eight in first class, 48 in business and 461 in economy. For a review of the business class on board, click here. For an overview of economy class, click here.
