5 Sep 2014 by GrahamSmith

Starwood Hotels and Resorts has opened a St Regis hotel in Chengdu.

The brand's sixth property in China, and 33rd worldwide, St Regis Chengdu stands at 29 storeys and contains 279 rooms and suites that range in size from 65 to 325 sqm.

It is located at the central business district by Tidu Street and is part of a new mixed-use development — containing residential units, office spaces, entertainment and retail outlets — called Huazhi Plaza.

The hotel contains six restaurants and lounges — Social, the brand's all-day dining restaurant; Tan Ting, a Chinese restaurant; Yun Fu, a series of private dining rooms at Level 27; Decanter, a wine bar; Vantage XXVII, an outdoor sky lounge with views of the city skyline; and The Drawing Room, featuring champagne sabering and afternoon tea.

There is also over 1,300 sqm of flexible meeting space, a ballroom and a spa.

The brand's 24-hour St Regis Butler Service is available to all guests.

Paul James, St Regis' global brand leader, said: "The St Regis Chengdu marks a significant milestone for the brand with plans to double the St Regis portfolio in Greater China in the next five years.

"As the world descends on Chengdu for both business and leisure, the St Regis is poised to become the social centre of this exhilarating city."
