Hold your flights when booking with BA and Iberia

27 Aug 2014 by Clement Huang

Ever found a very attractive deal online but didn’t have the go-ahead from boss or partner? Well, a new offering by British Airways (BA) and Iberia (IB) may just be the answer for you.

By putting down a small refundable deposit, BA and IB now allow customers to hold their flight reservations for up to 72 hours at the initial cost quoted to them.

Holding reservations on short-haul flights cost £5 (US$8), while long-haul flights will set you back £10 (US$16). This fee is valid for customers based in the UK.

Elsewhere in Europe, the cost is €5 (US$6) and €10 (US$13) respectively, while those in the US will have to cough up US$10 (no short-haul flights available). For all other countries, the holding fee is converted from the pound sterling figure.

Holding your flight is simple. During the booking phase, there is now an option for you to hold your flight. By simply putting down the fee, you can hold your seats for 72 hours with an advance period of up to 21 days before departure.
