Pay-in lounge group Plaza Premium has opened a new facility in Macau International Airport (MIA).
MIA serves some five million passengers a year, connecting mostly to destinations in Mainland China, as well as regional locations such as Bangkok (Don Mueang), Clark (The Philippines), Kuala Lumpur, Seoul (Incheon) and Tokyo. The opening of this 403 sqm Plaza Premium facility with 135 seats has replaced the previous Macau International Airport Lounge and should be a welcome addition to travellers using MIA.
The new lounge is located on the mezzanine floor, above Gate 5 and 6, and will offer upgraded facilities including two sound-proof VIP rooms with their own bathroom, plus a meet and greet service to give travellers a seamless kerb-to-apron experience at MIA. Free wifi, telephone and fax services are also available.
The food and beverage offering will predominantly feature Chinese cuisine, with a selection of Macanese dishes such as Portugese tart and serradura dessert, as well as a range of salads.
In the coming months, there will also be the creation of a landside-in, airside-out channel to guests of Plaza Premium Lounge - the first facility of its kind in the region. This means that guests will have an independent channel facilty where they can effectively bypass queues in the main departure hall.
